There is a sense of grandeur and occasion at the 'Long Bar' in the Criterion Restaurant. One such occasion was the formidable mind plotting of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; he imagined the meeting between Dr Watson and the enigmatic Sherlock Holmes at the bar. Another was Leo Engel, author of ‘American and Other Drinks’ published in 1878, who was the first bartender at Criterion Long Bar, many of his recipes are still used today and are featured in the Criterion cocktail list.

Whilst seated amongst the 'plush' red velvet and the neon lights of bustling Piccadilly shining through revolving doors, enjoy a glass of wine chosen from our extensive wine list or a Criterion cocktail. We also have an array of mouth-watering bar snacks ranging from 1/2 dozen oysters to a selection of sumptuous desserts.
